I believe creativity and cultural experiences shape us as individuals and connect us to one another.

I grew up in the Mississippi Delta and have spent the last two decades in Charleston, South Carolina, a city whose layered history has shaped the way I see the world and move through it.

I’ve always been drawn to experiencing places and ideas in new ways, and I find that art and culture are the richest lenses for doing exactly that. A museum or gallery visit, a long walk through a historic, architecturally preserved neighborhood, a live concert, a quiet morning ritual, a conversation with someone whose story differs from my own: these are the moments that open my eyes.

AWAY, TheBlog explores the beautiful tension between belonging and wandering, between the roots that ground us and the wings that carry us toward new discoveries. Home gives us a foundation. Journeys soften judgment, teach us to respect how others think and live, and remind us how much more there is to learn. Each makes the other richer.
